IYF and Spectacular 2018

Plans are underway to take a group of young people from the British Isles to the 2018 International Youth Forum (IYF) and International Spectacular (Spec). This event will be for youth who are finishing school years 10 to 14 (or equivalent) when it starts. IYF will take place at the church's International Headquarters in Independence on 19th and 20th July and Spec will take place at Graceland University from 21st to 28th July.

It is anticipated that the British group will travel to the USA on 17th July and fly back on 31st July but this has still to be confirmed. Cheryl and Andrew Fox will be the leaders of the British delegation.

In the past the World Church budget has included help to subsidise the costs of those travelling from outside North America but this is not available in 2018. It is anticipated that the actual cost per person for the trip will be around £1750. Each participant will be asked to contribute £1200. The rest will need to be made up through fundraising, donations and the use of surplus held in reserve from previous IYFs.

IYF and Spec provide a wonderful opportunity for young people to meet with other youth from around the world and to participate in life-changing experiences of worship, learning and new friendships. We are really excited about the possibility of taking a large group of youth from the British Isles and will be sending out booking information soon.

Please start talking to the young people in your congregation and others that you have contact with about IYF/Spec and start making plans for fundraising events. More information will be available soon but, if you have any questions at this time, please contact Cheryl Fox.
