Mission Initiatives

We believe that Christ’s Mission is Our Mission. In Luke 4: 18 – 19 (NRSVUE) Jesus proclaimed that mission when he read from the writings of Isaiah: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” We try to live out our faith by focusing on five key initiatives that express our commitment to sharing God’s love and peace with the world.

Invite People to Christ

We join in Christ’s mission by sharing the peace of Jesus with those who are longing to hear the good news of the gospel.

When we live, as well as speak the gospel, with authenticity and love, we invite others into a transformative relationship with Christ.

Abolish Poverty, End Suffering

We are Christ’s hands and feet when we serve the poor, feed the hungry and stop conditions that diminish the worth of persons. We are called to join with those working for sustainable change in the world.

Pursue Peace on Earth

We live Christ’s peace when we seek justice, promote reconciliation and join with others working for peace around the world.

We are called to share that peace in every context -local and global.

Develop Disciples to Serve

We aim to equip all people – men, women and children – to live as the presence of Christ in their communities.

Through spiritual formation, leadership development, and personal growth, we nurture disciples who embody Christ’s love and purpose.

Experience Congregations in Mission

Our congregations are called to be living expressions of Jesus Christ, woven together by the Holy Spirit.

Each community is learning how to be a beacon of the compassion and peace of God revealed in Jesus Christ.
